  Beauty

Beauty is seen in many guises

A golden sunset, or a starlit sky,

An Angel fish or a coral reef

Seen through the beholder's eye.

Beauty is an abstract thing

And takes up shape within one's mind

A pleasing, pleasurable, experience

Which can rarely be defined.

There is the beauty in a baby's smile

It is there in the written word,

There is beauty in all forms of art,

Or the song of a mocking bird.

Beauty experienced through the sense of touch

Is sensous, hedonistic, pure.

It fills the heart, the soul, the mind

And through one's memory, does endure.

Beauty does more than meet the eye,

It is a quality within all things.

It is enjoyed by all beings living

Be they commoners, or kings.
