  Sibling Comfort

I have his love to wrap around me

Like a cloak of gossamer wings,

Sheltering me from racialism

And the evil that hatred brings.

A fine web of silken thread

Cradles my feelings and my heart,

Fragile though those threads maybe

They've been my lifeline from the start.

I have his love to wrap around me

I have his blood within my veins,

It gives me strength knowing he's there for me

Knowing, helps me bear life's pains.

For he is my brother, sent before me

To light the way so I may journey safe,

Through temptation, into glory

A beacon for a frightened waif.

I have his love to wrap around me

Like a cloak of gossamer wings,

I feel his strength within my spirit

I feel the love his presence brings.

Such is the peace of sibling comfort

The bond of brotherhood in man

Such is the warmth I feel around me

Love will succeed, I know it can.
