Feeding the Pidgeons

Love lives longest in my mind
Yet ages not like me.
Love can be drawn upon, I find
By recalling thoughts from memory.
Love lives longest in my mind
With clear visions of the past,
Promises given, that for a lifetime bind,
And for most, a lifetime last.
Love lives longest in my mind
Where youth eternal springs.
It meanders in ways that twist and wind
To where the love in my heart sings.
Love lives longest in my mind
Even though my body’s frail,
An aging swain that can but remind
Youth, of young love’s tale.
Love lives longest in my mind
Even when memories fade and dim,
For love permeates throughout mankind
OUR LEGACY FROM HIM.
